Beauty Wish List
As of January 1st, I am on a makeup spending ban until my birthday in February! That, of course, doesn't stop me from planning what I will buy as soon as I turn twenty...
I've picked out one or two things from each makeup category as the products I most want to try! There are a few brands I haven't bought anything from, like Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury, that are high on my list, along with some drugstore brands with raved-about products that I can't seem to find in stores. On my birthday I'll definitely be placing a Sephora order so that I can get the gift from there and maybe buy myself a few things to avoid paying shipping.
Anyway, the things I've been lusting after (some for months!) are...
1. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation
I have been wanting to try this water-based foundation for ages but it's never been in Ulta or Sephora for me to shade-match myself. I'm just going to bite the bullet and try to order it online. Luckily there are a few beauty gurus with a similar complexion who have this foundation so I can get the same shade that they use!
2. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
I love to glow. Hourglass in general seems to make impeccable powders, blushes, and bronzers, so I'd like to see how they compare to my current favorites! Dim Light is supposedly a luminous powder than can be used like a subtle highlight or a glowing setting powder. Please let me know if you've tried this and recommend it, or if there is a different Hourglass product you think is more worth the splurge!
3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie
This Autumn I saw this shade everywhere and it's to die for! I only have one NARS lip product and I love it, but I haven't tried these lip pencils.
4. Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Bitch Perfect
All of CT's lip products are raved about (her Hot Lips line really appealed to me as well...) but this shade has been crowned one of the best. I'm also considering Liv It Up.
5. MAC Spellbinder Magnet Eyeshadow
These are a recent launch from MAC and they look so cool! They have a metallic, velvet looking finish and from video reviews I've seen they apply better with a brush than a finger.
6. Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts Palette
This purple-based palette screams my name. Every time I see it I have to resist the urge to jump on their website...I don't have a palette quite like this, and I really want to try Coloured Raine shadows.
7. Lush or MAC Lip Scrub
MAC just released a new line of lip scrubs that look very appealing, but the Lush ones look nice as well...I suppose it will depend on the flavor, ingredients and price which one I end up with! Again, let me know if you recommend a certain flavor or brand.
8. Elf Blush Gems Highlighter
Some reviews claim this to be a dupe for MAC Soft and Gentle, others say it's a complete dud. At $3 I'll risk trying it out for myself!
9. Wet n' Wild Highlighter in Precious Petals
These limited-edition summer highlighters were so popular that Wet n' Wild decided to make them permanent! I'm so glad because I wasn't able to get my hands on them during their limited release. Another affordable highlight, this one is a pretty gold that I've heard is comparable to higher-end highlighters.
10. Makeup Forever Large Magnetic Palette
As many of you know I just finished my small Makeup Geek Z Palette and I have a few shadows left over that don't fit, along with many more on my wishlist. I'd like to keep them all in one palette and I've heard good things about this one.
There are many more things on my wishlist but these are the first ones I want to purchase! Not all at once, of course, but over the next few months.
