Travel Bucket List

I'm getting such a travel bug lately. My family and I are constantly talking about our upcoming trip to Mexico in 2018 and I've spent so much of my free time researching other countries and looking at plane tickets! There are so many places I want to go that I don't think I can fit it in one lifetime, but that doesn't mean I won't keep them all on my bucket list.

1. Australia
If I had to pick only one place to travel to, it would be Australia, particularly the East Coast! I've wanted to go to Australia since I was in the third grade--I'm even thinking of applying to graduate schools on the Sunshine Coast. The oceans, reefs, forests, and cities look absolutely beautiful. I could do an entire post of bucket-list Aussie sites such as the Great Ocean Road, Bondi Beach, the pink lakes, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Alice Springs, and more! I think the surfside city of Byron Bay will be my first destination. (Photo creds: Instagram.com/tijmen4)

2. Greece
For a history nerd and sun-chaser, Greece is the perfect travel destination. There are so many famous sites to see and in between I can laze on the beach or visit some of the beautiful nearby islands. A major plus is that Greek food is delicious!

3. England
I know a few of my readers are British, so I would love to hear about your favorite places to visit in England! Part of the reason why I want to go there is so I can finally get my hands on all the British products that I keep reading about but are hard to access here in the US. Other places I want to go to are Manchester, London, and Brighton.

4. Brazil
All of South America/Middle America would be amazing to see, but Brazil in particular has a lot of natural beauty. Rio is such a beautiful city, and the Iguazu falls would be so cool to see in person. And just imagine flying over the Amazon! I would love to start and end a tour of South America with Brazil.

5. Spain
It seems like Europe has so much history. If I had the time and money I would love to take a couple of months off and go to every country that I could. Spain is definitely one of the first! It has so many grand cathedrals, castles, and other historical sites. While learning a lot, it would be so much fun to party in Ibiza!

6. The Caribbean
The Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Antigua...I was going to list all of these countries but I'll narrow it just to one area: the Caribbean! As you may be able to tell I love the ocean, the sun, and basically all things tropical. Snorkeling, surfing, and sunbathing are my favorite ways to pass the time so pretty much any island in the Caribbean would be perfect for me.

7. Venice, California
Now for some American destinations: the West Coast! I live in Michigan, way up North, and my family has mostly stuck our travels to the Midwest and the East Coast. I've never been farther west than Colorado so I would love to go out to Southern California. Los Angeles might be too busy for me, but from what I've seen of Venice I would really like it.

8. New Orleans, Louisiana
How fun would New Orleans be during Mardi Gras?? Aside from the various party options, New Orleans has a rich history and a warm location along the Gulf of Mexico. Tickets from Detroit to New Orleans aren't even that expensive--maybe I'll take a trip here when I graduate!

9. Italy
My reasons for wanting to go to Italy are very similar to my reasons for wanting to go to Greece! Italian food, Roman monuments, cathedrals, and great shopping...it's no wonder why anyone would want to vacation here. Tuscany, Venice, and Milan are on so many bucket lists!

10. Morocco
Palaces, mountains, cities, gardens...one google search and I'm already committed to traveling here. From Casablanca to Marrakesh, Morocco has some very famous cities, with stunning architecture and marketplaces. The natural beauty also looks gorgeous, with some national parks, waterfalls, and mountain ranges.

What are some of your bucket-list countries?

Paris would have to be number 1 on my travel bucket list, followed closely by Italy (ALL of Italy), Greece and The Maldives. Here's to wishful thinking!

  8. My husband and I want to go to New Orleans and we almost did but couldnt afford it at the time. Now we are trying to plan a trip to Paris for our 1 year anniversary! (Though we just have been married for a month and a half, lol). I'm also trying to see if we can squeeze in Amsterdam. You should go to Santa Monica Beach, it's right near Venice but it's a lot bigger and the pier is really big! The downtown area has some great shopping too!

  9. Reading travel bucket lists makes me wanna pack right now and just head for the airport!
I'd love to see all of these, but I'd choose Australia and Greece first.
Also, I kinda feel obligated to suggest Croatia (as it is very near to Italy and Greece too).
I went to Spain, and unfortunately, I did not have the full experience but I would definitely like to go back to fill in the holes :)
New York is on the top of my list ♥
