Despite being a makeup lover from a young age, I didn't start wearing blush until a couple of years ago. My cheeks tend to be on the red side and I never wanted to emphasize that. However, since discovering full coverage foundations, I've fallen in love with the effect that a good blush can give and have greatly expanded my collection.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Mood Exposure
This is the most recent addition to my collection but I have been completely obsessed with it. I love mauvey shimmery shades and this one is just the most perfect shade I can think of. The formula is beautiful, pigmented but not too pigmented, and very smooth and not glittery. I can't wait to try more from Hourglass!
Benefit Rockateur
Slightly more pink than Mood Exposure, Rockateur is my favorite shade in my Benefit Cheekathon blush palette. I wore it almost every day in Autumn and I still bring it out now that the weather is warmer. I love Benefit's blush formula and I get a lot of use out of all the shades in this palette.
Milani Tea Rose
I must admit that I haven't tried many drugstore blushes, but one brand that I think is really killing it in the blush department is Milani. I have two of their blushes, a baked one in Luminoso and a powder one in Tea Rose. Tea Rose is a perfect rosy shade and it has a beautiful flower emboss. It doesn't swatch well so I was initially unimpressed, but with a brush it becomes super pigmented. I must give an honorable mention to Luminoso, the formula is amazing but I think the shade is a little peachy-orange for me. I'm definitely going to get another shade!
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush
Technically I have two Tarte blushes, a beautiful bright shimmery pink called Glisten and a neutral dusty pink sample called Paaarty, which was the Sephora birthday gift this year. I use Paaarty more often but both are absolutely gorgeous. They last all day and apply really evenly to the cheeks. There are so many shades to choose from and I can't wait to get more. I also need to repress Glisten as it sadly arrived shattered!
Becca Rose Spritz
I think Becca has one of the most pigmented blush formulas out there. I have three of their blushes in the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face palette, and my favorite shade by far is Rose Spritz. Some people say this is more of a blush topper, but it's so pigmented that I use it as a regular blush. I get serious NARS Orgasm vibes from it.
Swatches from left to right: Mood Exposure, Rockateur, Tea Rose, Luminoso, Paaarty, Glisten, Rose Spritz
I really want to try more drugstore blushes like Nyx and Covergirl, as well as more high-end ones like NARS and Glossier!
Let me know your favorite blush shades and formulas!
