2017 Project Pan Finale

Lately project pans have been some of my favorite posts to read and videos to watch. There is something so satisfying about seeing makeup actually being used, and I don't know why. I try hard with my collection, but never seem to notice any progress...which is why it's so fun to look back at where I started this project and see how far I got!

I'm impressed with how many products I finished up. Some were a given, like the mascara I included, others were much more difficult. Keep in mind that I didn't really commit to this project until about halfway through the year!

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer: decluttered from my collection! I really didn't like the formula so I wanted to focus more on the primers that I have and like.

Physician's Formula Argan Wear BB Cream: It was a close one, but I finished this just a few days before this post!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer: finished!

Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder: I recently hit pan, but I'm nowhere near finishing it. I may end up adding this to my next project pan.

Wet n Wild Contour Duo in Caramel Toffee: I hit pan on the contour shade, but there is so much product in this powder that I could not finish it this year. I think I will focus on a different product next year.

Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun duo in Aruba: I surprised myself and finished the bronzer half of this duo, which was my goal, and now I am decluttering it! The blush is way too warm for me so I will pass it on to someone who will enjoy it. Towards the end of the bronzer it was hard to get my brush into there, but I'm glad I finished it.

Clinique Soft-Pressed Blush in Pink Blush: I repressed this blush and am still working on it! The formula has gotten so much softer, more pigmented, and is overall easier to use and now I'm actually enjoying working on it. This will likely be in my project pan of 2018.

Trestique Mini Highlighting Stick in Maldives Luminescence: I'm sad to say that I didn't finish this one. You only need the smallest amount with each use. I think I'm going to have to get creative with it if I want to use it up soon.

Colourpop Supershock Shadow in I Heart This: This is chock-full of glitter, which made it hard to use. I didn't get far with it at all. I did use it frequently, though, I swear!

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette: I use at least one shade from this palette with every eyeshadow look, so I'm disappointed that I didn't make much progress with it. These pans are deep, y'all! I think I'm close to hitting pan on Venus and Faint but I use the other three shades the most often these days.

Maybelline Lasting Drama gel eyeliner in Soft Nude: I've used this everyday and sharpen it about once every two weeks. Still not a ton of progress on it, however.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara: Finished!

Hanalei Lip Treatment and Strawberry Chapstick: finished!

Physician's Formula Argan Wear Lip Oil: finished! I used this mostly on my cuticles.

L'Oreal lip liner: finished!

Rimmel Stay Glossy lip gloss: finished! It looks like there is more product in the tube but it can't be reached with the wand, so I'm calling it done.

Rimmel x Kate Moss Nude lipstick in 45: I made some progress, but there's a lot more left. You can see how much I've used since the last update at the end of September (which isn't much).

Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber Perfume: finished!

Calgon Hawaiian Ginger body mist: still working on it, but I made some progress. You can see the mint green line I made in nail polish after the last update.

Juicy Couture perfume sample: I'm not a big fan of this, but I've had it forever and I added it to finish it off just last month. I've been using it on my wrists occasionally, I'll try to finish it up next year.

Bath and Body Works Mango Mandarin and Vanilla Bean Noel lotions: finished!

Bodycology Coconut Lime body lotion: I just added this into my Project Pan in the last update, and I made a good amount of progress on it. I will probably roll this over into next year because it's pretty old but I do like the scent. I made the first marker with a navy blue nail polish but it's a little difficult to see how much progress I made because it sticks to the bottle for ages after you use it or shake it up.

In my 2018 project pan I would like to focus more on the older products in my collection, sample-size products, and ones that aren't cruelty-free. I'll go over my 2018 plan in a post next month! I'm proud of what I used up, especially the bronzer and the lip products.

I would love to hear if you find it easy to finish up products!

Xx Katie

  1. I use up skincare products up fairly often but makeup takes ages for me. Maybe my New Years resolution should be to finish up more of my makeup.

  2. I definitely want to do Project pan for 2018! It would force me to not buy makeup as much, although I still have quite a wishlist, lol\

  4. I love and use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and honestly, it takes ages to finish a whole pan! I use it every day, and I must have hit pan a couple of months back, and it's still no where near being used up! I truly love that it doesn't go really fast!

  5. I LOVE project pan's too, I also did one this year that I documented on my blog. I can't believe you finished the whole part of the bronzer section in that duo, that's amazing. Well done on your panning. Hopefully you'll have even more success next year!

  7. I also like these posts, actually using makeup is great :D however, I can't say I'll ever do this cause I don't wear makeup regularly and on daily basis so one product lasts me forever. these posts also show which product is good and which is not and I love that :D

  11. You've done really well, I find it so hard to use products up myself. I have finished my maxfactor mascara, think it's time to pull a new one out, but that's only because it's one of my most used products x
