November Ipsy Bag Review
Can I just stop to appreciate this bag for a minute? Sometimes it's not what's on the inside that counts...it's this gorgeous blue and gold constellation print! Even the inside lining is this beautiful, metallic gold. I absolutely love it.
After admiring the bag itself for a solid two minutes I got around to checking out the products inside of it. Surprise, surprise, I couldn't help myself and I had already peeked at what I would be receiving a few days before it arrived.
Model Co. Instant Brows Brow Pencil in medium/dark
When I saw this online it looked very, very light so I was apprehensive about it. Luckily it's a good match for my dark, cool-toned brows. They're very thick so I don't often fill them in, but sometimes I over tweeze and I like to fill in the patches. This isn't very pigmented and it feels a little waxy, so it helps to keep the brows in place. I've only worn it once but I didn't notice any problems with it!
Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in black
I was really excited to try out this felt-tip liquid liner sample, as last months Glam Bag included a Ciate one that I fell in love with. At first it seemed very promising. I could get a nice thin line and it dried matte. I used this for a winged look when I went to a family event last weekend. I was only there for a few hours but it had smudged everywhere! I might still use this when I'm not doing a wing, but it might not be worth the risk.
Lasting Smiles Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint Creme
This is the only full-sized product included in this month's bag. It's a standard lip balm for a great cause as part of the proceeds go to fund cleft palette surgeries for children. If you like the original Burt's Bees lip balm I think this is really similar! I personally don't like peppermint oil in my lip balms, it dries them out, so I think I will pass this on.
Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara
I was really happy to see this in my bag, it's one of my favorite higher end mascaras and my current tube of it is reaching the end of it's lifespan. This is great for volumizing and lengthening the lashes without clumping them. Unlike a full-size tube of mascara, which often dries out before I use it all, I will definitely be finishing this!
Elizabeth Mott Color is Bae Lip Lacquer in Red Chili
I haven't actually worn this out and about yet, but I did put it on for about an hour just to test out the formula. It is essentially a matte liquid lipstick. It dries very quickly and is mostly transfer proof. I only needed one layer for full coverage and it didn't feel drying or tacky. Overall I was impressed with it! The color is very bright and I think it will be great for the holiday season.
This is my first Glam Bag to ever include only one full-size product, which I'm a little disappointed with especially considering that product is a lip balm. It's also my first Glam Bag to include all makeup. I do love makeup, but Ipsy often introduces me to brushes, skincare, bodycare, and haircare products that I fall in love with so I would have liked to see one or two of those items in here, too. I think a lot of people would be happy with these products but I personally won't get a ton of use out of them. The bag, on the other hand...don't be surprised if you see it popping up in some of my photos later on!
Also, sorry that my posting schedule is a little off. It's nearing Thanksgiving break and all of my professors seem to want to fit an exam in before then! The time change has also been messing with me, I usually get home around 4:30 pm and there used to be ample lighting for taking photos, and now it's practically nighttime.
Which of these products would you most like to try?
