I've been receiving and reviewing Ipsy bags for more than six months now and I still get so excited when I see that pink foiled package in my mailbox! It's like getting a surprise present every month...from yourself. It's only $10 and each month I feel that the five products and the bag are worth the money. Often I find products that I love and would have never discovered without Ipsy. My bag reviews are usually first impressions so I thought I'd do a more in-depth review of ten products that I've been introduced to by Ipsy!
I'm definitely more of a makeup person, but I have also been given a fair amount of skincare, haircare, and beauty tools so this post includes a good amount from each category.
Trestique Mini Highlighting stick in Maldives Luminescence
I love cream highlighters but I've only found a few that I get on with. This is one of them. This little rounded stick is perfect for creating an all-over glowy look, which I'm always down for. Whereas some chubby stick-type highlighters are too big for smaller areas like the brow bone and cupid's bow, this can get right in there and make your complexion look luminous. It doesn't have shimmer it in, just sheen, so it looks very natural and blends in very easily. This shade is perfect for my skin tone and could easily work for deeper ones, too!
Delectable Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream in Lemon and Cream
This smells so good! I wear hand lotion every single day so a new one is always welcome, especially when it smells like Fruit Loops. The size of this is decent, too--bigger than a sample but small enough to throw in your handbag.
Ciate Fierce Flicks eyeliner
Who can't use a new black, felt-tip liquid liner? This full-size one from Ciate was included in my October glam bag (perfect for the Halloween theme) and it's super black, pigmented and easy to use. Fierce flicks, indeed.
It Haircare 12 in One
I have very, very dry hair thanks to nine years spent in chlorine, so leave-in conditioners are a lifesaver. My favorite spray is from It's a 10 but I really like this It Haircare leave-in cream because I can put it into my ends while my hair is wet and give it an extra layer of protection before styling it. This is also available at drugstores so it'll be easy to replace when I run out! It makes my hair feel really soft and I do see most of the 12 benefits that it claims to offer.
Ofra Eyeshadow in Bohemian
Ofra's single shadows aren't talked about enough, if this one is anything to go by! The shade is a really pretty, neutral brown with a beautiful metallic finish. These are a little pricier than other brands like Makeup Geek or MAC but I'm thinking about placing an order for some of their more unique shades. I also like that they gave a full-sized shadow, whereas Urban Decay and theBalm gave dime-sized versions. I forgot to swatch it (#WorstBeautyBlogger) but you can see a swatch in the original review of my April glam bag!
Vera Mona brush
I love getting brushes from Ipsy, I don't think you can ever have enough eyeshadow brushes. Plus, the more you have the less often you have to wash them...right? Maybe not, but that's how I justify getting new ones. This one especially is my favorite. I haven't seen another one like it in stores, it's perfect for picking up product and packing it all over the lid.
Trust Fund Beauty liquid lipstick in K, Bye
Let me introduce you to one of my favorite Autumn/Winter shades! This dark brown/rose is absolutely beautiful and I love the formula of it. It doesn't dry down completely matte, but that makes it more comfortable on the lips which is a necessity for me. It's completely opaque after just one application. I'd compare it to the Colourpop Ultra Satin lips, but just a bit thicker. A great find!
Hey Honey 24Seven Honey Day and Night Moisturizing Cream
Sadly I'm on my last few uses of this thick, creamy moisturizer. I have dry skin and at night I like using a thicker moisturizer to prevent dry patches! This does a really good job and you don't need to use a lot of product to hydrate the entire face. This little sample has lasted me more than two months! After I work through a few more moisturizer samples I'll be purchasing the full size.
Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun Bronzer and Blush Duo
As you can tell I don't use half of this product, but the other side is so good that I have to include it. I don't own a ton of bronzers but I'm quite faithful to my Benefit Hoola as a contour powder. Unfortunately I only have Hoola in a massive palette that I can't take with me while traveling, so this slightly darker powder is my go-to for makeup on the go! It's matte, neutral, and easy to blend. It can be used as an all over bronzer or a contour, and I like it for both.
Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
This sample isn't pictured as I used it up already, but I like that it gave me softer, shinier hair that lasted for several days after I used it! I've only tried a few other brands and they don't give me anywhere near the results I got with this.
Swatches from left to right: Maldives Luminescence, Caribbean Sun bronzer and blush, K Bye
Although some months are better than others, I have always received at least one product that I get a lot of use out of !
Have you tried any of these products or brands?
Xx Katie
I've never tried any of these products, but I find the liquid lipstick and duo blush very pretty and interesting. :)

Pink Frenzy
I know the feeling of getting packages in mail, it's like xmas every month! I am not subscribed to any beauty box at the moment but I was very pleased with all products I received when I was subscribed!

These all sound lovely, I haven't signed up for any subscriptions because they mostly seem to be hit and miss but love the sound of these products. I really want to try the Vera Mona sponge I have been seeing it all over social media, but the brushes look good too. Great products, thanks for sharing xxx

I never got along with treStique products but OMG, I have to 100% agree with you on the highlighter! It's so good and I love it. I'm on the fence about the Ciate eye liner, it's good but I find it hard to get a precise flick and as soon as I tried Rodial eye liner, I never reach for it anymore. I also need to give the 12 in one hair treatment a go, so many raved about it.

I'd love to get a subcription box, they look so good and such a good variety of products! And £10 is so good! xx

I loved receiving my ipsy boxes when I lived in the US I thought they were such good value for money. Thanks for sharing your fav's.

For some reason, the UK subscription boxes are nowhere near as good as the ones in other countries! So I'm not personally subscribed to any. I do really like the look of your picks here, some really lovely stuff! That blusher + bronzer especially caught my eye. :) Thanks for sharing, lovely! <3 xoxo

"Surprise present from yourself", well that's one of the good bits about these subscriptions isn't it? :) Is that Ciate eyeliner long lasting and does it smudge easily?
