Tag posts are some of my favorite to read and write, so I was really happy that Hannah from Floraful.blogspot.com tagged me in the beauty tag! She has a fabulous beauty blog that I recently discovered, so be sure to check out her page if you haven't already :) On with the questions!
If you could have anyone in the world do your make-up who
would it be?
Without a doubt Wayne Goss! I have learned so many tricks
and tips from his YouTube channel and I think he’d be so much fun to talk to
while he did my make-up. I also might choose Tati because she has every product under the sun, but I feel like if Wayne did my make-up it would be life changing.
What's your top make-up tip?
Become a foundation mixologist! Skin feeling dry? Mix a bit
of moisturizer in with your foundation. Skin getting pale or tan? Mix a lighter
or darker foundation in with your regular one. Skin looking dull? Put MAC
strobe cream or another liquid highlight into your moisturizer! I have a few good drugstore foundations in various light and dark shades specifically for this purpose, there's nothing worse than buying an expensive foundation and not being able to wear it.
What's one skincare item you couldn't live without?
This is a toughie—it’s a tie between my St. Ives Apricot
scrub and my Curel moisturizer. I'm quite lazy with skincare but my skin can get very dry, especially in the winter.
What are you worst at when it comes to applying makeup?
Definitely eyeliner. Until recently I only wore gel or
pencil liners, which I’m okay with, but my liquid eyeliner gets really messy
and a wing is practically impossible. Hopefully Hannah’s hack can help with
that!
What's your biggest pet peeve when it comes to beauty?
I feel like in the beauty world there is a huge FOMO complex
that I and other bloggers/vloggers get where if we don’t have that one product
that everyone is raving about we are missing out on something massive.
Another pet peeve, now that I think about it, are certain
makeup trends. Obviously this is just an opinion and you should do whatever makes
you happy, but there are a few trends that I really dislike such as excessive
contouring and the “Instagram Eyebrow”.
What's your favorite makeup era?
This is going to sound so strange but I have a love/hate
relationship with make-up from the early 2000’s. Orange spray tans, blue
eyeshadow, tons of glitter…I wouldn’t wear it myself but I find it fascinating
that ten years ago that was in style!
What's your guilty pleasure product?
I’m not sure any make-up product that you use is a “guilty
pleasure” but I’d say any nude lipstick, especially a high-end one. A lot of the nudes I have seem like the exact same shade, but I keep buying them nonetheless.
What's your "underdog" product?
I’d say the Maybelline Colossal mascara, which I’ve featured
a lot on my blog. It makes my lashes look super long without making them clump!
No one seems to talk about it, which is a shame, but it has been out for a few
years so maybe the hype isn’t around it anymore.
What's your favorite make-up product of 2015?
Oh wow. This is a hard one. I think I will say my MAC Studio
Sculpt foundation because I wore it almost every day since I got it. I had a
really bad experience with my previous foundation, which was cakey and the
wrong color for me, so this helped my skin look better than it had in ages!

Mixing foundations is one thing that I have never really tried before, but I really should because I find it next to impossible to find a shade that's an exact match. I have put a drop of serum in my foundation before though and it worked a treat!

I haven't tried that but it's a great idea!
DeleteLove a tag post! That moisturiser with your foundation sound's like such a good trick x

Really loved reading your tag, hun! :) <3 Much agreed about the current makeup trends... I don't really like them or follow them, I'm pretty much stuck in the 50s with my makeup routine, lol! <3 Also, loving your tips about mixing foundation with other products to achieve certain results, that's super smart! :) Thanks for sharing, hun. x Kisses. x x

I love reading tag posts! I know what you mean about excessive contouring, I recently saw a video on Instagram about contouring the back of your neck. Erm, I'd rather be eating cake, but each to their own I guess. ^_^

Aww I'm glad to read your answers! I was thinking of Wayne Goss as my answer too, love him! I am actually a part of a makeup group on Facebook, and they HATE Kim Kardashian's contouring, the Instagram beauty trends, etc. and they are professional makeup artists for brides, editorial, etc. so they don't do the whole Instagram thing. And one set of brows do not work for each individual's face and eye shape. Oh the early 2000's makeup...I didn't use spray tans (I'm already dark enough) but I loved bronzer, pink body glitter, and shimmery eyeshadows from Claire's and Cover Girl! Loved reading this!

Ah yes the contouring craze. You can contour anything these days! I remember seeing Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls and her stomach was contoured! Xx
