Although this is primarily a beauty blog and I love all
things make-up, one of my other passions is TV. I watch TV the way other people
listen to music: that is, I’ll watch anything and everything. When other people
ask me what my favorite show is, I honestly don’t know what to tell them
because I watch so many amazing shows! So for this new series on my blog I’ll
be breaking my favorites up into categories. So whether you’re looking for a
new show to start on Netflix or you love TV the way I do, I hope you find
something you like!
When it comes to comedy, I like a lot of shows that are
dirty or inappropriate in some way. I’m not sure why, they just tend to make me
laugh more often. These shows are in no particular order, I love them all!
Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23
This is my FAVORITE comedy show at the moment. The plot
twists are really funny and unexpected, and I love the actors. Kristen Ritter’s
character Chloe is my spirit animal. James van der Beek also stars…as himself.
The show is about a girl named June who goes to New York City to work on Wall
Street, but loses her job and has to find a roommate. She moves in with a
seemingly nice girl named Chloe, who is really cool and friends with the actor James
van der Beek, but Chloe then tries to con June out of her money. This show
makes me laugh out loud (for real) and everyone who’s watched it with me ends
up loving it.
Friends
Probably the most popular show on this list, if you haven’t
seen Friends you haven’t truly lived. It’s about six friends living in New
York. It’s lighthearted, funny, and touching. I personally don’t think it’s as
funny as a lot of the others on this list, but I couldn’t possibly leave it
out!
Ja’mie: Private School Girl
This is a relatively unknown, one-season Australian comedy
by Chris Lilley. I love Lilley’s other shows like Summer Heights High and Jonah
From Tonga, but this one is my favorite. It’s based on one of Lilley’s characters
from Summer Heights High, Ja’mie, and her final year in private school. Lilley
(a man) plays Ja’mie and she’s the meanest, brattiest character on TV. It’s so
freaking funny. I need more than 6 episodes!
That ‘70s Show
I have such fond memories attached to this show. During summer
break my sister and I used to sneak downstairs and watch this from 12:00 to
1:00 every night with the volume so low it was nearly unintelligible! It follows
six teenagers and their parents living in Wisconsin in the 1970s and all of
their hookups, attempts to get beer, and other teenage dramas. Plus Ashton
Kutcher. Enough said.
Workaholics
This Comedy Central show is about three friends who work in
an office together and also live together, so they’re constantly getting in
fights, getting in trouble with their boss, etc. This is more of a “masculine”
comedy if you know what I mean, but I think it’s really good.
Blue Mountain State
This is definitely a show more orientated to guys but if you
have a dirty sense of humor I think you will like it! It’s about a college
football team and their parties, drinking, drugs, hazing, and hook-ups. Some of
the characters like Thad, the team captain, are just ridiculous. I've also heard that they're making this into a movie so I'm really excited!
South Park
I love satirical comedies so this is an obvious comedy
choice for me. It’s a (poorly) animated show about fourth grade kids living in
South Park, Colorado. It parodies celebrities, current events, and American
culture. I’ve seen every episode at least twice, but I prefer the newer ones to
the older ones because I understand more of the ‘current events’-based jokes.
There are a ton of seasons of South Park and its constantly airing on Comedy
Central so give it a try if you haven’t already!
What are some of your favorite comedy shows? Do you like
inappropriate humor?

I used to watch south park all the time, now it has been some years that since I've last watched it. Friends is the best, I can watch it over and over without getting bored. Have you watched the big band theory? It is kinda funny :)

I don't think I've ever watched a full episode but my parents watch it all the time! I do find myself laughing at it so I should start watching it sometime :)

I think it's well worth it if you don't have Netflix!

Oh, I love Friends. One of my fave comedy of all time. I have watched a few episodes of That 70's show and that B in Apartment 23 but didn't really stick with them for long.
