Regardless of the temperature, everyone is getting into the autumnal vibes and I'm no exception! Berry lips and nude eyes are all the rage, but for special events I've been going for a different look. I'm all about the metallics and autumn seems like the perfect season for a mix of metallic shades!
To begin this look I primed my face using the Nyx Angel Veil primer, which smooths out the skin wonderfully and controls oil. My skin is sort of normal/combination/dry depending on the season and the products I've been using, and my t-zone has been getting oily lately.
Next I use a stippling brush (I love the Real Techniques one) and apply my current favorite foundation, the Too Faced Born This Way. This foundation has amazing coverage (medium to high) and makes my skin look radiant and flawless. I have the shade Light Beige, which is a little bit too dark for me so I've been trying to self-tan every week just so I can use this!
Usually the foundation covers any blemishes, but if I have any noticeable ones I use the Bareminerals Bareskin concealer on them. This matches my skin tone perfectly and it's my favorite concealer for acne scars or spots. Under my eyes I apply the Becca Under Eye Brightening corrector (full review here!) and if my dark circles are especially bad, I'll apply the Bareminerals concealer on top of that.
For contour and blush I'm, as always, reaching for my Benefit Cheekathon blush palette (full review here!) Hoola is a great matte, neutral bronzer that I use for a contour shade. After carving out my cheekbones with Hoola, my favorite fall blush shade is Rockateur from the same palette. This is a beautiful mauve rose gold shade with a bit of shimmer to it. I think in a few months the 'Rock' emboss will be completely gone, I use this so much during the colder months.
To warm up the rest of the face I like using a bronzer with a bit of sheen, so I brush the perimeter of my face using NARS Laguna. This is a smooth powder that is so, so easy to blend. I've used it at least three times a week for an entire year and I've barely made a dent in it, so this is the perfect thing to splurge on.
I want a metallic golden highlight for this look, and my favorite is the Audrey Star Powder from Gerard Cosmetics (full review here!). This isn't a pure gold color so it doesn't look harsh on my fair skin, but this highlighter really packs a punch! I apply it with a fan brush and it still gives me an intense glow.
The eyes are the focus of this look and my favorite glam autumn shade is copper! I have brown eyes and copper really makes them stand out. Same goes for blue and green eyes, so this metallic shade is perfect for everyone. I use my Morphe 35O Shimmer palette, which has a perfect foiled copper shade in it as well as some similar shadows to deepen the crease, apply to the inner corner and to the brow bone.
I start by priming my eyes with the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige. This creates a sticky base for all the shimmer I'm about to use. Then using a flat eyeshadow brush I pack on the copper shade from my Morphe palette. I apply that all over the lid and honestly, you could leave it at that if you wanted. It's so beautiful. And if you want a good copper shade but don't want the entire Morphe palette, Makeup Geek's Flamethrower is almost identical!
For a super-glam look, however, I like to blend a deeper shimmer color into the crease (a matte shade would work well, too) and put a warm, light color in the center of the lid to give the eyes some dimension. Then I highlight the inner corner and the brow bone with a light gold shade. I use the other shades from the Morphe palette, but MAC's Nylon, Makeup Geek's Rapunzel, or the highlighter used on the cheekbones are all great options, too.
Tricky Lashes trimmed (left) and untrimmed (right)
I want my lashes to really pop and draw even more attention to the eyes, so I'm using falsies for this look. I was recently sent these gorgeous mink lashes* from Tricky Hair, which are a new release from them. These are very long, soft and dramatic, perfect for a glamorous night out! I trimmed these a little bit for more of a natural look, but they look beautiful as they come, too. These are also reusuable which is always a plus. I apply these with the KISS lash adhesive, which is sticky but easy to pull off.
To balance out my full upper lashes, I apply a generous amount of a volumizing mascara like the Too Faced Better Than Sex to my bottom lashes and then I finish off my eye look with winged liner! I like the Revlon Colorstay, it's so easy to use.
Typically with an autumn look I go for a berry lip, but with such dramatic eyes I decided to keep the lips simple and nude. I went for a recent obsession of mine, the cult favorite MAC Velvet Teddy! This nude, terra-cotta brown shade is perfect for fall and I can see why it is so hyped.
And that completes this makeup look!

What do you think of this look?

I started wearing my dark lipsticks but it is still summer here and people are still going to the beach haha! What to do, I was so excited on the first day of September and now it is almost half of October and it feels like July. But dark lips are here to stay!
