A Little Makeup Geek Haul

With the recent purchase of a Z palette, I now have the urge to fill it. I have a separate palette for my MAC shades so Makeup Geek is my top pick for single shadows! I placed an order over the summer so I already had a few shades, but they were more stand-alone ones and I couldn't create a good eye look with them. So, with that in mind and after reading many MUG palette posts, I placed a new order!

Top row from left to right: Cocoa Bear, Frappe, Creme Brulle. Bottom row from left to right: Homecoming, Cherry Cola.

Creme Brulle
This infamous transition shade was first on my list. It's a warm, matte beige that I think will go well with the crease shades I bought. The matte formula is very smooth but not powdery, so I don't think there will be a lot of fallout.

Frappe
This is a matte crease or transition shade really similar to Creme Brulle, but slightly cooler. Another one I know I'm going to get a ton of use out of!

Cocoa Bear
I love using shades like this to deepen the crease, and I've heard a lot about this color in particular. It's a matte warm dark brown. I think a standard eye look of mine will be Creme Brulle and Cocoa Bear in the crease and a lighter shimmery shade all over the lid.

Cherry Cola
Burgundy shades are some of my favorite for the crease, and I know this red-toned brown will look great with some of the other MUG shadows I own, like Cinderella.

Homecoming
I couldn't resist adding a shimmer to my all-matte order, and when I looked at swatches online of this I fell in love through the screen! This is sort of a cool-toned medium bronze, but it looks slightly gray in the pan. I love the MUG shimmer formula, it's so soft, pigmented and metallic!

Swatches from left to right: Creme Brulle, Frappe, Cocoa Bear, Cherry Cola, Homecoming.

This isn't a large haul by any means, but I have a few more spaces to fill in my Z palette so I'm sure I'll add a few more within a month and then I'll update you all on my filled palette! Luckily in the US shipping from MUG is pretty cheap, I've heard a lot about how difficult it used to be to get these in the UK. In the meantime, are there any Makeup Geek shadows that you think are a must-have? I'd love some recommendations!

Xx Katie

  1. Oh what a gorgeous haul! I too fell in love with makeup geek this year, so so happy we can get the brand easily in the U.K!! I have all of these shades and totally agree, transition shades are such a must! My favourites for day to day have been mirage, and creme brulle for a super quick eyeshadow look ^_^
