May Favorites

Ever since school ended last month, my summer seems to be flying by! I'm working a lot and finally getting my blog back in a routine. I have a lot of favorites this month, as always, but for once no TV favorites!

In the beauty department I've been testing out a lot of new, popular brands and seeing if they live up to the hype.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush in Mood Exposure
Everything about this blush is perfect. The mauvey, shimmery tone, the easy-to-blend formula, the pigmentation...this one quickly soared to the top of my favorites list. I'm obsessed with it and it might be my favorite blush of all time after just a month of using it. Now I want to try the bronzers!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in Pepper
This is an absolute gem I found at TJ Maxx! I've been wanting to try out Bite for the longest time, and I love when I get a discount on a shade that is right up my street. Pepper is a creamy, dark rosy nude that I love now and I think I'm going to love even more in the fall.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Moisturizer
If you haven't heard yet, the Ordinary is quickly becoming one of the most popular skincare and makeup brands. Their packaging is kept very minimal, which keeps costs down so that they can invest most in the actual products. This moisturizer is perfect for my dry skin so far, especially at night. It is on the thicker side but it soaks quickly into the skin. It doesn't have much of a scent, which I actually prefer for my skincare.

Mood Exposure, Pepper

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
I've loved this series for years, and although I thought the fourth movie was a bit of a disappointment, I was happy to go to Canada to see this one! Especially when I found out Orlando Bloom was making a comeback, along with one of my favorite Aussie actors Brenton Thwaites. The special effects were really good and although some of the jokes were cheesy, I laughed the whole way through.

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga & All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda
I talked about both of these in detail in my Currently Reading post, but both of these are unique crime novels that I'm really into at the moment! I Hunt Killers is a series and I'm just starting the second book while All the Missing Girls is a stand-alone and I just got to a big plot twist.

This month for a donation, my favorite actress is making a cool new film that is currently being crowdfunded so I decided to put some money towards it! You can learn more about the film and watch a trailer sort of thing here.

What have you been loving this month?
Xx Katie

  22. I didn't realise that moisturiser from The Ordinary was quite heavy, for some reason I thought it was really lightweight. I might have to pick this up for night time use!
