Last week it was my birthday, so with the Sephora birthday gift calling my name I decided to treat myself! I picked up a few full-size goodies as well as some sample products and mini sizes, all of which I’m very excited to try out and share with you!
If you follow me on Instagram @BeautyFromKatie (cheeky spon), you may already know that I purchased the gorgeous Tartelette in Bloom eyeshadow palette from Tarte. I’d been eyeing it for quite a while and I figured there is no better reason to splurge than a birthday! With it I also received a sample of Tarte’s Amazonian clay bronzer in Park Ave Princess, and their blush in Glisten. I’ve been testing out the blush and the quality of it is amazing! I’m definitely going to purchase one in the future, although Glisten might be too bright for me.
From my best friend I got two beauty items, a Hello Lovely body lotion and shower gel in the scent “Vintage Berries”. They both have a strong, berry and grape scent and I really like them so far!
Sephora offers a choice between a couple different birthday gifts, and I jumped at the Marc Jacobs sample set. It came with a mini lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a bright reddish pink, and a black mini eyeliner pen. I’m saving the lipstick for a special occasion and based on my first use of the eyeliner, it’s a great quality product.
Of course, if you’re going to pay for shipping and handling you might as well get a few other items to throw in! I collected a few samples and I also purchased the Tarte Tartiest Lip Paint in the beautiful nude shade Namaste. The samples I picked were Becca’s Aqua Luminous foundation, Hourglass’s Mineral Veil primer, and Laura Mercier’s Candleglow foundation. I haven’t used either of the foundation samples, but yesterday I used the Hourglass primer and I am amazed. It felt like liquid silk on the skin and I need the full sized product in my life. I’m sensing another Sephora order in the near future!
Update: I also bought the Benefit Highbeam highlighter and it literally just arrived! Not pictured, but I’m sure I’ll mention it in a post sooner or later.
Am I the only one who buys birthday presents for themselves?
