Review: Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara
With everyone and their mother raving about Maybelline’s Lash Sensational mascara, I knew I had to try it. However, when I went to the drugstore I saw two different versions of the mascara: one black and pink, the other beige and pink. I didn’t have a lot of time so I went with the black and pink. Mistakenly, I had picked up the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious mascara rather than the original one I had wanted.
Now, usually I’d be a bit angry at myself but I decided to try it out anyway. I rarely dislike a Maybelline mascara, and they’re so affordable that if I disliked it I could go back to the drugstore and get the original.
Now that I’ve shared the ever-so-important story of how this mascara came into my possession, onto the review!
First of all, the packaging is really nice. I love the matte black with the metallic pink. The brush has plastic bristles in rows that are distinctly separated from each other. The brush is narrower at one end than the other, which is helpful for reaching straggler lashes and the bottom lashes.
The formula that I chose is black, waterproof, and quite wet. There are also non-waterproof options and another color option, dark brown.
I’ve been using this for several weeks now and it’s my new go-to mascara! While I can’t compare it to the popular, original Lash Sensational, this is definitely ranked as one of my favorite mascaras.
As you can see in the photos, this mascara lengthens, thickens and curls your lashes with one coat. With two, it starts to get a bit clumpy and spidery, so I usually stick to one coat only. I like how this mascara can be built up depending on the situation. For school, I can make it look really natural, and for going out I can make my lashes look voluminous.
When I finish this mascara I’m going to try out the original Lash Sensational, but I will definitely be returning to this one at some point!
Try it out for yourself here or in drugstores!
Have you tried either of the mascaras in the Lash Sensational line? How do you like them?
