February is one of my favorite months, marking the end of winter and my birthday month. Although it's passed by way too quickly, there are several things I'm obsessing over so let's get down to business!
Beauty:
Tarte Tartelette in Bloom: This. Palette. It’s probably one
of my all-time favorites, even though I’ve had it for less than a month. The
shadows are so soft blend really nicely, and the shades are all wearable. My
favorites are Funny Girl, Smartypants, Firecracker, and Jetsetter. I wonder if
this says anything about me? I got this palette for my birthday and I’ve been
reaching for it almost every day since!
Benefit Highbeam: This liquid highlighter has been just the
product to brighten my cold, dull winter skin. The soft pink adds such a
beautiful glow!
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation: I’ll be honest,
when it comes to drugstore foundations I have little to no faith that they will
work as well as the high-end ones I’ve tried. However, after a few different
beauty bloggers recommended this full-coverage, glowy foundation I knew I had
to try it and I’m so glad I did! Faith restored, drugstore. The finish on this
is amazing and I like it just as much as my beloved MAC Studio Sculpt.
Nude lips: I’ve been opting for nude lips for most of this
month, with a focus on two products in particular: the Kate for Rimmel nude
lipstick in #45 and Tarte’s Tartiest Lip Paint in Namaste. The shades are
really similar, but Namaste has an opaque, matte finish and #45 has a more sheer,
glossy finish.

TV:
Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23: I’m pretty sure I
included this comedy in last month’s favorites, but I’ve been enjoying it so
much that I need to write about it again! This show makes me laugh even when I’m
all by myself, and Krysten Ritter’s character Chloe is my new spirit animal.
The OC: I think I included this one in a favorites post a
few months ago, but I’ve been marathoning it for the past three days so it is
only right to include it. This 2003 teen drama about rich teenagers living in
Orange County California was like the original Gossip Girl, so if you like
shows like Gossip Girl, 90210, and the Carrie Diaries you will probably love
this! It also wins Beauty From Katie’s award for best theme song ever. California,
here we come.
Music:
So many artists have released albums this month that I don’t
know where to start! Sia, Foxes, Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna…so many to talk about.
Bird Set Free, Unstoppable, and House on Fire were definitely standouts from
Sia’s new album, This is Acting. I
listened to and enjoyed Foxes new album, but the only song I’m continuing to listen
to is called Devil Side. Same with Rihanna; the only song I really like from Anti is Close to You. However, Wiz
Khalifa surprised me! I don’t usually like rap but BTS, Elevated, and Cowboy
are all really good from his Khalifa
album. This month I also discovered Taylor Swift’s acoustic songs from Red and 1989 and as a die-hard T. Swift fan, I’ve had them on repeat.
Bloggers:
I’ve been reading so many great blogs lately it’s hard to
choose just a few favorites! Jasmine Talks Beauty is a popular blog that I really
like, Jasmine is so nice and she takes great photographs! I read and love just
about every post she uploads. Brigette Hayley’s blog and YouTube channel are
also really well-done and I love reading her posts and watching her videos.
Give them both some love if you haven’t already!
What have you been loving this month?
Xx Katie
