Review: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
If you follow beauty trends, then you’ve definitely heard about liquid lipsticks. It seems like every brand has one or is coming out with one! I decided to try Stila’s Stay All Day liquid lipstick in one of their summer shades, Venezia. I bought this months ago so this review is long overdue!
When first applied, the formula is a creamy liquid and is very, very pigmented. I’d compare it to painting. It’s a bit tricky to put on—you have to be precise, as this product is hard to get off. If you’ve done a patchy or uneven application, that can also affect the final look. It takes a few minutes to dry completely, so I like to lightly even out the color with my finger.
Once the liquid lipstick has dried, it has a lightweight matte finish. It’s not sticky at all and the color lasts for HOURS. If you don’t want a matte lip, you can also layer clear gloss on top for a pigmented but shiny look. If you drink something, the product transfers to the cup but you can’t tell by the way your lips look. It can be quite drying, so be sure to prep your lips before you apply! Other than that, there aren’t many cons to this product. It doesn’t feather, it lasts for ages, it doesn’t settle into your lip creases, and it’s extremely pigmented. This is everything a liquid lipstick should be. Also, after it’s dried, you can touch your lips and there is no product transfer, which I think is cool. There are definitely no worries about smudging with this!
However, it is a high-maintenance lip product. You can’t just swipe it on and go—you have to condition your lips and apply it carefully. It’s also quite the task to remove it!
The color I have, Venezia, is a gorgeous bright red with orange and coral undertones. I have never seen another lip product in this color! I think it’ll look amazing with a tan as it’s definitely more of a spring/summer shade. But if you want to wear it now, Stila released some winter colors along with the summer and original shades, many of which are worth checking out! There are a total of twenty shades. My favorites are Venezia, Fiery, Patina, and Bellissima.
