I have a strange fascination with finishing make-up
products. My collection is constantly growing so whenever I like something
enough to finish it I feel like I’ve accomplished a goal. That being said, I
rarely finish anything, especially lipsticks, eye shadows and powders. But over
the next few months I plan to do just that!
I’ve picked out seven beauty products that I’m close to
finishing up and I’m going to start using more often.
The first is a foundation, and a rather expensive one at that.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin is a foundation I used all throughout last year and
got pretty close to finishing until I bought and fell in love with other
foundations. To be honest, I really didn’t like this foundation (read my full
review here!) but I plan on mixing it with a moisturizer and using it as a
tinted moisturizer, which prevents the problem that this foundation has of
sticking to my dry patches.
The next is a powder bronzer from e.l.f. in the shade “Sunkissed”.
I’m hitting some serious pan on this one! In fact this is probably the product that
I’ll end up finishing first. This was a very cheap bronzer (I think around
$1.00) that I decided to give a try and I ended up really liking it. It’s a
warm, shimmery shade that I like to use in the summer for a nice glow. As the
weather warms up, I’m reaching for this more and I’m hoping to finish it soon!
I included a body spray in this post because I don’t think I’ve
ever finished a perfume. I’m a fragrance junkie and it’s surprising how close I’ve
come to finishing this considering how many others I have. I’m not a huge fan
of Bath and Body Works body sprays because they usually don’t last long, but
Dark Kiss is one of the only musky scents I have so I use it quite often! I plan
on wearing this to work or if I’m going out for a short amount of time.
From left to right: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint (from Urban Decay Naked Basics), Covergirl eyeshadow, Sunkissed bronzer
Next up are two eye shadows, a single and a palette. I’m not
extremely close to finishing either of these but I think they need some love
because they’re both great products. The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette had
an unfortunate accident so the darkest shade “Crave” is just about gone. The
other five are mostly matte which is why I don’t use this palette often. I
decided to use this to build up a base for other eye shadows or use it on “naked
make-up” days. The shadows are all richly pigmented and I feel like I’ve been
ignoring this palette for too long. The single eye shadow I’m going to use more
is a cool-toned shimmery taupe from Covergirl (the label has disappeared) that looks amazing on top of
matte shades.
While I don’t like many Bath and Body Works perfumes, I
adore their lotions. Warm Vanilla Sugar is a classic scent that I love and need
to use more often! I'm going to stick this in my handbag and use it whenever needed.
Finally I have a lipstick. I have never in my life finished
a lipstick. I’ve come close a few times but always lost the tube in the final
stretch. I’m coming close with the Maybelline Color Sensational in Glisten Up Pink so I think it’s time to accomplish that goal! I love the high pigmentation
and glossiness of this lipstick and it’s surprisingly wearable when you tone
down the color a bit.
Well, I shopped my stash and I’ve found several products
that I want to use up! Do you like finishing products? Are there any that you
think you should use more often?

Oooh you've got a lot of excellent things. I also love finishing makeup, but somehow I can do it only with skincare. Makeup is so hard to finish! xx adaatude.com
ReplyDeleteI finish skincare a lot more often than make-up, too!
DeleteI literally never finish anything, I'm so obsessed with trying new things that I always seem to find something better!

I'm the exact same way!
DeleteThere's nothing like the satisfaction of finishing a project. I've been trying to be better at it, but new stuff is so exciting!

I have the Naked basics 2 palette and I feel like I've really been neglecting it lately as well. Definitely need to crack it out more often.
